One book that has truly touched the Prosperity team is Nicholas Kristof’s and Sheryl WuDunn’s Half the Sky: Turning Oppression into Opportunity for Women Worldwide. More than just documenting the atrocities many women face daily, Kristof and WuDunn offer hope through stories of ordinary citizens creating change, and suggest ways that you, the reader, can get involved.
Tonight, PBS and Independent Lens will present the first half of a two-part Half the Sky documentary. The book’s authors, along with celebrities and women’s rights activists, will visit ten countries to illustrate threats from human trafficking to violence and discrimination.
