There are a few moments in life that you will never forget. Moments that inspire and surprise you — that recharge you to keep pushing forward. Finding a letter from the Secretary of State’s office in my mailbox opening it to discover that Hillary Clinton wrote a personal thank you note to you for sending her a Prosperity Candle is definitely one of them. I was delighted, of course, to be listed alongside Hillary in Fast Company’s League of Extraordinary Women, but it is another thing entirely to open a letter that congratulates you on the work that you are doing to advance women’s entrepreneurship around the world, with specific enthusiasm for your upcoming plans in Haiti.
I am so impressed to discover the depth of support and enthusiasm that this League of Extraordinary Women – or League of Global Sisters – offers us all. It is a reminder that no matter how big and glamorous one’s persona may become, that we should all take time to give back, pay it forward, and mentor and encourage other women who are advancing change.
Hillary Clinton is an inspiration to so many women. No matter what our political beliefs, we can all agree that she has been a courageous voice for women’s advancement and has stood up to incredible hardships.
