Fall brings big changes for Prosperity Candle

This autumn has been full of exciting transitions for Prosperity Candle.  Our team is growing and evolving, we’re moving to a new office, and we’re about to launch a new initiative in Haiti!  It’s been a whirlwind of change, and we couldn’t be more exhilarated about it all.

Founding partner Siiri is transitioning into the role of Executive Director at our nonprofit sister organization, Prosperity Catalyst.  This move will allow her to fully immerse herself in our work in Haiti.  Of course, she’s such an important part of Prosperity Candle that we couldn’t possibly replace her. We’re enjoying the new dynamics and synergies created by the Candle/Catalyst relationship.

Over at Prosperity Candle, we’ve welcomed two new members to our management team: Kaitlin Hasseler and Kim Hutt.

Kaitlin Hasseler, Director of Partnerships & Business Development

Kaitlin is taking over Siiri’s role of developing partnerships, managing our custom gifts program, and working with our Prosperity Ambassadors.

Her experience is ideal for this position having worked on global gender equity programs and corporate partnership development for the United Nations Association of Greater Boston (UNA-GB) and the Girl Scouts in Washington DC, where she developed a unique blend of strategic partnership building and nonprofit fundraising with business acumen. In her field work with Lift Up Africa, Kaitlin has seen the direct impact of women-led businesses and economic empowerment, which drives her belief in social enterprise and shared prosperity.

Kaitilin lives in Boston and will be sharing an office with Siiri. She serves on Boston’s International Women’s Day Steering Committee and the Boston Acumen Fund chapter, is a co-leader of a teen girl’s group at her church, and loves spending her free time hiking, boxing and horse-back riding across the globe.

Kim Hutt, Director of Online Marketing & Sales

Kim is managing Prosperity Candle’s entire web presence: marketing, social media, website development, e-commerce platform, and the updated systems we need to efficiently operate the company.

Before joining us, Kim was a Client Experience Designer for Pixel &Type, a boutique marketing firm creating innovative brands within the financial services industry. Kim has worked with financial advisors across the nation, helping them leverage their unique stories and authentic voices, and implement creative marketing plans. Kim is also a self-professed “systems and organizational junkie” – something Prosperity Candle has desperately needed.

Kim lives in Northampton and works in our office here. She is “thrilled to be able to bring her operational and marketing expertise to Prosperity Candle, and to have the opportunity to work at the cross-section of product and purpose.”

You can learn more about our new additions (including our new intern, Emma West!) on the Prosperity Candle team page. Stay tuned for more updates — it’s going to be an autumn full of activity!
