"My work at Prosperity Candle helps me to create a brighter future for my children."
Born in a refugee camp in Thailand, Naw has never seen her ancestral home in Burma (Myanmar). Her parents were forced to flee their village because of their ethnicity, forever leaving behind the life they knew and loved.
Naw grew up in the refugee camp with limited access to education, and was rarely allowed outside its fences. In her early twenties and married with a baby boy, Naw became eligible to relocate to the United States to start a new life. After a brief start in Kentucky, they moved to Massachusetts to be closer to their community. Naw joined Prosperity Candle in 2012 as an apprentice.
