Amnesty International
Amnesty International is a global movement of people fighting injustice and promoting human rights. With more than 3 million supporters, activists and volunteers in more than 150 countries, and complete independence from government, corporate or ideological interests, Amnesty International is currently the world’s largest grassroots human rights organization. Through our activism and campaign efforts, tens of thousands of prisoners of conscience have been released from unjust detention. Prosperity Candle and Amnesty International have partnered to create a new line of Amnesty candles made by Burmese women refugees to embody their mission to advocate for human rights.
FEED Projects
FEED began in 2006 when model and activist Lauren Bush Lauren designed a bag to benefit the United Nations World Food Programme’s (WFP) School Feeding program. Lauren first created the FEED 1 bag, a reversible burlap and organic cotton bag reminiscent of the bags of food distributed by WFP, to help raise funds and awareness around these school feeding operations. In 2007, FEED Projects LLC was founded by Lauren Bush Lauren and Ellen Gustafson to produce and sell these bags.
To date, FEED has been able to raise enough money through the sale of products to provide over 60 million school meals to children around the world through WFP. We are proud to have collaborated with FEED on their very first candles created by Prosperity Candle.
Unitarian Universalist Service Committee
The Unitarian Universalist Service Committee (UUSC) is a nonsectarian organization that advances human rights and social justice in the United States and around the world. We envision a world free from oppression and injustice, where all can realize their full human rights.
Through a combination of advocacy, education, and partnerships with grassroots organizations, UUSC promotes economic rights, advances environmental justice, defends civil liberties, and preserves the rights of people in times of humanitarian crisis.
Week of Compassion
Week of Compassion is the relief, refugee and development mission fund of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in the United States and Canada. We seek to equip and empower disciples to alleviate the suffering of others through disaster response, humanitarian aid, sustainable development and the promotion of mission opportunities.
We are proud to be partnering with Week of Compassion to support their work while spreading the word about the importance of fair trade work to support social justice around the world. Thank you to Brandon and Amy for their support!
World Pulse
World Pulse is a global media and communication network devoted to bringing women a global voice. They broadcast and unite women’s voices from around the world into a powerful force for change. They produce a print and web magazine as well as host an interactive community newswire, PulseWire, where women can speak for themselves to the world and connect to solve global problems.
