Ted lives in Western Massachusetts with his wife Patsy and two daughters, Sophie and Casey. He spent 8 years helping businesses in developing countries access global markets, having previously owned and managed an import and trade consulting company. In 2001, he and Patsy volunteered in Ghana for 5 months where the course of their lives changed. A group of Ghanaian women determined to escape poverty started a bread business. Ted was running the microloans program that provided start-up capital, and ever since has been interested in the role of business and women’s entrepreneurship in solving social problems. Ghana is also where Patsy and Ted got engaged, in the hospital, recovering from malaria.
