Thank you to our partner, the Daily Beast’s Women in the World Foundation, for choosing Prosperity Candle’s inspirational women’s quote candles as their top Mother’s Day gift idea for Mother’s Day! The quote candles feature inspiring quotes by women leaders like Hillary Clinton, Zainab Salbi, Pema Chodron, and Eleanor Roosevelt.

The Women in the World Foundation grew out of the annual Women in the World Summit organized by Tina Brown of Newsweek and the Daily Beast.

As World Fair Trade Day, May 12th, approaches, Prosperity Candle and UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief) are working together to bring more awareness to the importance of fair trade gifts. We have always been committed to fair trade principles in the creation of our candles, but now, thanks to the support of UMCOR, we will soon officially be a fair trade member.

We’re proud to offer UMCOR candles that benefit their work with refugees being resettled in the United States.

It helps women refugees – all of whom are Moms – from Burma rebuild their lives here in the United States, by offering them employment. Prosperity Candle Founding Partner Siiri Morley was honored to give a keynote address at the South Shore Women’s Business Network breakfast gathering to raise awareness about the Massachusetts Educational Foundation. The Massachusetts Educational Foundation offers women who are over 35 the opportunity to earn a scholarship towards continuing their education. Their focus is to help women who want to make a career shift later in life.

Siiri spoke at the keynote about her personal journey – fueled by scholarships in large part – which landed her at Prosperity Candle. She addressed the concept of a global sisterhood of women supporting women, both locally and globally, and called for all women to support each other as they pursue their dreams.
